A random posting from deep in a Norwegian storm on one of my loves, wallpaper. (I am currently in one of my favorite 1950s houses, which has large swathes of 50s wallpaper hugging its walls.) My indulgence in the wonderful world of wallpaper has included attending conferences and workshops, as well as writing papers and undertaking archival research. Recently I found a new addition to my catalogue of contemporary creators, with this company, The Art of Wallpaper, and wanted to post three of their designs.
UPDATE: In searching for Daniel Heath’s The Fantastic Jumbo paper, I came across the name of the creator of the papers below. Her name is Belynda Sharples, co-founder of The Art of Wallpaper, and you can order her work through The Shop Floor Project. At £45 per 10m roll, it is fairly inexpensive as handcrafted papers go. Plus ‘Caravans’, ‘Aeroplanes’ and ‘Countryside Toile’ come in a whole variety of colourways.

Caravan (Kitschie Escher effect)

Countryside Toile (aka the wonderful world of the cow)
There is a longer post waiting to be written on the late C20th/early C21st psychology of wallpaper – a name which also refers to the ´background´ image of our computer ´desktops´, as well as to the numerous backgrounds used for political press conferences and speeches (background/foreground/subconscious/patterning/messaging etc.).

Hello,
Have you tried Zotero?
I’m still learning how to use it, but it seems really friendly and useful.
Very nice blog, by the way.
